Abstrakt: Dnipropetrovs'k region is one of the most environmentally polluted European regions of Ukraine. This is because harmful industrial emissions in the territory of the Dnipropetrovs'k region are mostly formed by large enterprises of the mining, chemical and metallurgical industries. In view of the functioning of large metallurgical enterprises in the atmosphere of the Dnipropetrovs'k region, there is an increased content of cadmium, sulfur and other chemical compounds harmful to human life. The social and economic conditions prevailing in the city of Dnipro need an appropriate environmental policy. Currently, many industrial enterprises, even with the threat of receiving large amounts of penalties for environmental pollution, are in no hurry to implement measures aimed at improving the environmental situation. Their management and owners are primarily interested in making a profit, and not in the construction of treatment facilities aimed at protecting water and air basins. In the city of Dnipro, the highest concentration of pollutants is in the atmosphere and in the ground. Among the enterprises of the city Dnipro, the most active contaminants of the soil with heavy metals are VP "Pridneprovskaya TES", PJSC "Evraz-DMZ" and PJSC "INTERPIPE Nizhnedneprovsky pipe-rolling plant". In our opinion, plants that have the ability of phytoextraction should be used as planting material for planting lawns. They are most expedient to use primarily in city parks and in the vicinity will make it possible to reduce the ingress of heavy metals into the city sewage system, and, consequently, the Dnieper River.
