The paper presents the results of developing the technology of NPP pipelines' joint welds' reconditioning repair by surface cold working method. There is a description of the developed equipment, which makes it possible to implement the technology in conditions of operating NPP units. The shift of the technology, developed in the laboratory conditions, into the natural conditions was provided by the maximum number of feedbacks for the assessment of the surface hardening procedure quality, both during the procedure and after its' ending. The main criterion of compliance with the developed technology of the surface hardening is the constancy of load value at the roller tool, so the force trace on the actuator complete with the coordinates of its' position is the necessary and sufficient condition for guarantying the quality of performing the working operation of composite joint welds' surface hardening. The system for the surface hardening, based on the National Instruments components, quality assessment was developed with account for operating features of the equipment for the surface hardening of the composite joint weld's zone of the surge pipeline. The complex of calculated analysis, focused on the determination of optimum performances of the seam run-in, was carried out and during this analysis it was shown that obtained depth of the residual stresses distribution falls in the range of 1.5÷ 2.0 mm. It was demonstrated that the favorable residual compression stresses occur after the cold work hardening process if there is a field of the residual tension stresses in the metal of the full-sized test sample. The developed technology is implemented at Novovoronezh NPP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
