The article cites a case study on thrombosis of the posterior cerebral artery (PCA). It discusses the case of a 60-year-old right-handed man presented several hours after an acute onset of left-sided weakness associated with visual complaints and headaches. Results of the examination confirmed a left hemiparesis and left homonymous hemianopia. A computed tomographic scan of the head in the emergency department showed a linear hyperdensity adjacent to the right cerebral peduncle. Magnetic resonance angiography was performed the following day and showed absent flow in the right PCA suggestive of a proximal occlusion. |
