Abstrakt: The designs of probes for measuring the time of propagation of bulk and surface ultrasonic waves and examples of their use for diagnostics of the process of metal creep are described. The results of measurements of the surface wave velocity in the elastic and plastic domains are given. It is shown that in the elastic domain (up to the yield limit of the metal) change in the surface wave velocity is not greater than 0.02%. In the plastic domain, a decrease in the surface wave velocity is observed and the magnitude of the decrease depends linearly on the loading rate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
