Abstrakt: The aim of the present study is to determine the productivity and botanical composition of grass mixtures with different ratio of components. The period 2016-2019 in the experimental field of RIMSA-Troyan by the block method in four replications, with the size of the harvest plot of 5 m2 the following variants were tested: a pure crop of bird's foot trefoil (100% - control) and grass mixtures in different percentages: bird's foot trefoil + cock's foot (50:50); bird's foot trefoil + red fescue (50:50); bird's foot trefoil + Timothy grass (50:50); bird's foot trefoil + cock's foot + red fescue + timothy grass (25:25:25:25). On average for the study period, the most productive hay mixture was bird's foot trefoil+ cock's foot, in which the dry matter exceeded the control by 23.17%. A mixture of bird's foot trefoil + red fescue with a dry matter yield over 12.2% compared to the control variant was also more productive than the pure crop of bird's foot trefoil. The participation of the sown species in the mixed grasslands depends on their biological characteristics, in combination with the climatic and soil characteristics of the region. The high coenotic activity of cock's foot determines its high share in grassland during the years of the experimental period and explains its maximum productivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
