This paper proposes an algorithmic extraction of lineaments using DEM and remote sensing images of Mokolo area which has been facing great issues in water supply. The best independent component was chosen based on ACP, tensor voting and Hough transformation and was then used to improve border accuracy. The research findings revealed 616 geological lineaments that were statistically derived from DEM and remote sensing images. Lineaments have the following directions: NNE-SSW, NE-SW, NW-SE, and E-W. The Adamawa fault and the Cameroon volcanic line are represented by DEM data and Landsat 8Oli images, respectively. The east has a higher density of lineaments connecting the central and western parts. As a result, this area may have been affected by a more significant structural deformation. In other words, the area may have a higher potential for underground water infiltration due to a higher density of lineaments that serve as weavers. As a result, water is influenced to infiltrate the subsurface. Lineaments have an impact on the drainage network at 39% of the total stream length. More control of lineaments can be found near the drainage source, where first-order streams are most common. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
