Abstrakt: The article reports on characterization of a brain-selective transcript of the Adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) tumor suppressor gene. Germline mutations in the APC gene are causal in an auto somal dominant form of colorectal cancer termed familial adenomatous polyposis. Although APC has been thought of primarily as a colon-specific tumor suppressor gene, its association with certain brain tumors and its ubiquitous expression suggest that it performs important functions in these tissues also. APC is amulti-domain protein that has been shown to interact in virto wfth at least 10 other protein partners.
