The article discusses explains the importance of eye care professionals being able to recognise medical emergencies when they occur in practice. Topics discussed include common medical emergencies that could occur in the optometrists' consulting rooms; association of chest pain with additional symptoms such as shortness of breath; and shifts in refractive errors to patients suffering from Diabetic ketoacidosis. |
