Abstrakt: | Background: This article is a commentary on the importance of the preparedness of the next generation of Registered Professional Nurses for a Health care system recovering from the COVID-19 Pandemic. Purpose: The goal is to emphasize the need for nurse educators to equip novice nurses to deliver safe and quality care post pandemic. Discussion: Through a review of literature, the common theme amongst newly licensed Registered Nurses in Acute Care, is lack of confidence in preparation to care for patients, and difficulty transitioning into practice. Ultimately nursing education affects nurses’ resiliency and retention. It is necessary to bridge the gap in the healthcare system by providing realistic expectations to nursing students prior to them becoming newly licensed registered nurse Conclusion: This article attempts to bring awareness to the correlation between nursing educator and their unique role in the growth and development of the nursing team post-pandemic.
