The quantitative composition of lipids isolated from flowers of calendula officinalis and fruits of sea buckthorn is determined by the method of thin-layer chromatography (TLC). Significant differences are revealed both in the proportions of phospholipids (PLs) and sterols in the composition of the total lipids and in individual fractions in the composition of PLs. It is shown that the lipids of the studied plant objects do not differ significantly in their ability to oxidize. It is found that the PL packing in the membranes of calendula flowers is less rigid than in the membranes of sea buckthorn fruits. Mathematical analysis of UV spectra using the Gauss method makes it possible to reveal the presence of various carotenoids and flavonoids in a chloroform solution of lipids, while more hydrophilic biologically active substances remain in a mixture of polar solvents in the process of lipid isolation.
