A flat strong discontinuity in a polymer fluid is investigated in the rheological Vinogradov−Pokrovsky model. Relationships for a strong discontinuity are given. The existence of discontinuous stationary solutions of the problem without rotation of the velocity vector at the discontinuity and with rotation (rotational discontinuity) is substantiated.
