An editorial is presented on how to respond to global crises and even technical developments which might contribute to alleviating or even reversing the adverse effects of climate change. Topics include intrusive methods which had unforeseen and disastrous consequences for coastal landscapes; and loss of cultural and linguistic diversity as the forces driving globalization increasingly threaten Indigenous people, minority languages and oral literatures. |
