The article provides insights for criminal lawyers on improving their plea bargaining skills through preparation for negotiation using a negotiation checklist. Topics discussed include the importance of negotiation and training for negotiation in criminal law practice, role of traditional dispute resolution scholars and criminal scholars in the reluctance to include plea bargaining in the definition of negotiation, and the elements of a preparation checklist such as interests and goals. |
