Abstrakt: The net transformation of the energy (net energy (NE) fodder-gross energy meat) and the protein (protein digestible in the intestine (PDI)) foddercrude protein meat), by reared in traditional technology from 0 to 90 days of age suckling karakachan lambs in the conditions of extensive productive system are calculated. The indexes “Clarc of energy distribution” (CED) and “Clarc of protein transformation” (CPT) are used. The experiment was carried out in real production conditions and the lambs were not separated from their mothers during the suckling period. The authors determined the incoming nutrients from plant feed, as the lambs were fed in individual separated feeders to which the mothers did not have access. The suckled milk is determined once at an month on a control day, as the lambs were separated for 12 hours, each mother is milked separately and the quantity of the milk,was multiplied by 2. The net energy and protein digestible in the intestines, were determined by standard formulas, based on the content of raw nutrients. The authors established high effectivity of transformation for both of the indexes - CED=0.5062; CPT=0.8715. The high levels of transformation could be explained both with high available NE and PDI in the entrance of the system (fodders), and with accumulated energy and protein in the body in the moment of the lamb‟s birth.
