The following review focuses on the analysis of computer simulation and experimental research of the initial crystallization stage of crystallizable thermoplastic polyimides, which have a strong potential as bonding agents in the creation of new advanced materials with improved performance. It has been demonstrated that the introduction of carbon nanofillers has a significant influence on the initiation of polyimide crystallization and on the properties of the polymer matrix. The review also discusses the molecular mechanisms which are responsible for the improved mechanical properties of nanocomposites based on crystallizable polyimides. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
