Abstrakt: Every medical profession is an activity that requires knowledge, skills and competencies that are acquired through medical education and practical experience in working with the patient. The modern system for providing health services is complex and changes rapidly with the development of technology. The role and responsibilities of medical laboratory assistants develop with these changes, requiring new knowledge and skills. The professional training of the medical laboratory assistants is carried out through a practical training session, clinical / training practice and pre-diploma internship. Mastering a certain amount of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and professional competence is a long and complex process that is realized within their three-year training. The requirements for the level of their preparation are multiple. On the one hand, it must be in response to the high requirements for laboratory professionals, excellent communication skills and on the other hand their college training should be in line with the training of graduates of similar specialties in the European Union. The analysis of the literature shows that there are a number of developments on the problem in the field of Medical Pedagogy. They clarify the issues of general organization and implementation of practical training. There is still a lack of targeted research on the role and place of practical training for the formation of professional skills and competencies in the personality of the trainee medical laboratory assistant.
