Abstrakt: 2In Software Defined Network based Internet of Things (SDN-IoT), the path selected for forwarding the packets as per rules, should be Quality of Service (QoS) effective. Since SDN based IoT involves dynamic heterogeneous flows, handling caching in terms of rules becomes challenging. Hence in this paper, we propose QoS aware Optimum Path Selection and Rule Caching Policy (QOPS-RCP) for SDN based IoT. In this technique, the optimum path is determined that satisfies the QoS constraints: Rule Caching (RC) cost, packet loss probability and delay. A RC policy is designed that matches the requirements of SDN based IoT architecture such that the cost of RC is minimized. The proposed research methodology is implemented in OpenFlow module and the performance is evaluated in terms of throughput and end-to-end delay. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
