The LSU-05 NG (LAPAN Surveillance UAV-05 New Generation) is the new generation of LSU-05 unmanned aircraft designed by the Aeronautics Technology Center of LAPAN. This aircraft uses a U-tail configuration that is connected with two booms, but the boom on the LSU-05 still has problems with its deflection that is too large, thus disrupting the aerodynamics of the aircraft. This report contains an analysis of the tail boom structure of the LSU-05 NG. ABAQUS/CAE software is used to predict the deformations that occur in structures. This analysis offered 3 configurations with different boom cross-sections that are subject to gravity. The results of the analysis show a comparison of the three boom configurations offered and also have the conclusion that the entire empennage structure is still safe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
