Presents a paper on fatal exacerbation of rheumatoid arthritis associated with fibrosing alveolitis in patients being treated with infliximab. Report on three cases of patients who suffered sudden onset breathlessness associated with deteriorating lung function after just a few doses of Remicade; Caution in the use of the drug in patients with underlying lung disease; Additional report of two cases of pneumonitis associated with the drug, one in a patient with Crohn's disease and the other in a patient with ankylosing spondylitis; Evidence of associations between pulmonary disease an all three licensed drugs for rheumatoid arthritis. |
