Abstrakt: Illustrating the potential for development to negatively affect health and wellbeing, two of these articles examine development-induced resettlement. This issue, which emerges as so many countries face new and more deadly waves and variants of the Covid-19 pandemic, contains several articles on the relationship between development and health, reminding readers that, despite the urgent need to address new and emerging diseases, there are many serious and preventable illnesses that also require urgent attention and many developmental responses that could vastly enhance the health of the world's most disadvantaged inhabitants.
