Abstrakt: From 2013 to 2019, 582 patients were identified from a prospective database who underwent breast conservation therapy after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Most patients (84%) had cT1/T2 tumours and 61% were clinically node positive. Most tumours were HER2+ (38%) or triple negative (31%). Twenty-nine percent of patients had a pathologic complete response. The majority of tumours had a margin width of > 2 mm (88%), while the remaining 12% were = 2 mm. At a median follow-up of 39 months, ipsilateral breast tumour recurrence occurred in 14 patients, with a 4-year recurrence rate of 2%. Ipsilateral breast tumour recurrence was associated with clinical and pathologic T stage and receptor subtype, but not margin width, on univariate analysis (P<0.05). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
