This article deals with expressiveness in phraseological units in English, Romanian and Albanian. Despite the fact that there are many works dedicated to this problem, the novelty of this paper is a detailed investigation of a large number of phraseological units which make language more colourful and more expressive. The objective of this research is to make a comparison between the phraseological units in these three languages. More exactly, this research focuses on those structures which are made up of different parts of the human body. They can be identified, analysed in a variety of contexts and classified according to various criteria. Thus, one could notice among the phraseological units presented here similarities as well as differences. In conclusion, this work tries to contribute to a better understanding of this issue and to outline the complexity of these units and their expressiveness in the languages mentioned above.
