The Magleby Hoard, a sixteenth century coin hoard from the isle of Møn, contains 680 coins mostly of domestic origin laid down around the year 1536 outside the small village of Magleby. The hoard was found by an amateur archaeologist with his metal detector and later excavated by Museum Southeast Denmark. The hoard has since been a catalysator for the amateur archaeologists trailing the countryside with their metal detectors both around the village of Magleby but also around the whole island of Møn.
