Changes in the level of inflammation in the injured muscle soleus of rats with the usage of such therapeutic agents as C60 fullerene (dose of 1 mg/kg), menthol (dose of 1 mg/kg) and their combined use in the form of intramuscular injections are studied. The change in muscle stiffness is analyzed as a biomechanical marker of the inflammatory process in it. Changes of the pro- and antioxidant balance in the blood of rats after the induction of muscle injury and the applied therapeutic agents, namely, the concentration of TBA-active lipid peroxidation products, hydrogen peroxide, reduced glutathione and catalase activity are studied (TBA— thiobarbituric acid). A significant synergistic effect of the combined usage of both C60 fullerene and menthol on the inflammatory process in the injured muscle is established that opens up the possibility of their use as effective therapeutic agents.
