Polysaccharides that are mainly participating in cellular structure are formed by monosaccharides, which are linked by 0-glycosidic linkages. However, they are not osmotically active inside the cells. Biomaterial had a wide range of application in the pharmaceutical industry, medical devices and biological systems. Using bio-polymers and polysaccharide preparation was started in early 1900's and it has been developed in recent years. Polysaccharide preparation performed by various methods such as enzymatic method, chemical method, ultrasonic method, radiation method and other possible methods. Due to limited sources and environmental issues, producing polysaccharides and their presence in the industry and market should be eco-friendly. Natural polysaccharides found to be useful and disease-free materials for biomedical applications, which at the same time are non-toxic. This study reviewed chitosan bio-Nano composites studies, which is nontoxic to human and it is environment friendly. By combining it with other polymeric systems, wide range of applications may be offered and will likely be involved in our future lives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
