Abstrakt: This article reports on the influence of weight loss through diet or exercise in boosting high density lipoproteins (HDL). Science has already shown that losing weight boosts HDL, the so-called good cholesterol that lowers the person's risk of heart disease. Stanford University researchers recently produced the first study, which shows that weight loss through diet or exercise boost HDL equally well and in different ways. For people overweight, then, it seems a safe bet that they may be able to give their HDLs a double boost by dieting and exercising. A new study is now examining the exact benefits of combining them.
