Abstrakt: Canine Distemper (CD) caused by Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) is one of the most lethal and infectious viral diseases of dogs and many other carnivores producing high morbidity and mortality. The present study was carried out to evaluate the clinical manifestations of the disease in canines along with analysing the haematological and biochemical alterations in dogs diagnosed with Canine Distemper using Immunochromatographic (IC) assay. Among all other clinical signs observed in CD, nasal discharge and nervous signs were the most common clinical manifestation followed by elevated body temperature and ocular discharge. The above mentioned findings concluded that Neutrophilic leukocytosis with lymphopaenia is a notable feature of Canine Distemper affected dogs. The results are indicative of anaemia and thrombocytopaenia in dogs suffering with CD. Serum biochemical values were non-significant. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
