Abstrakt: The article focuses on enzymology with its applications to dermatology. Enzymes constitute the largest and most highly specialized class of protein molecules and are the primary instruments for expression of gene action. They function as catalysts to promote various intracellular reactions by lowering the energy of activation of their respective reactions. The concentration and localization of enzymes in the epidermis vary greatly in different regions of the body and although there are frequently correlations with such factors as epidermal thickness, phase of hair growth, hair distribution, and richness of the underlying vascular bed.
