Remarkable advancements in nanomaterial technologies have escorted to innovative nanomaterials like graphyne and graphdiyne. These are two-dimensional nanocarbon nanomaterials (derivatives of graphene). Graphyne and graphdiyne possess exclusive structural, chemical, electronic, and mechanical properties for high performance applications of nanoelectronics, energy, and nanocomposites. Unique aspects of graphyne and graphdiyne are observed with polymers. The polymer/graphyne and polymer/graphdiyne nanocomposites have been designed using polymer adsorption, nanofiller dispersion, in-situ, or solution method. The polymer/graphyne and polymer/graphdiyne nanocomposites are highly promising for technical applications such as electronics, actuator, solar cell, and water desalination. Further studies on these nanocomposites point to future progressive methodological relevance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
