The extract of Chamomile flowers is widely used as a pharmaceutical agent, and as a recent tend chamomile flowers are used as feed additives for farm animals, for improving growth rates and weight gain. The use of chamomile as feed for farm animals also leads to increased immunity and improved physiological and biochemical parameters. This publication shows the effect of chamomile blossom /in a daily dose of 50 mg/kg b w, added to the concentrated feed for weaned lambs for a 3 months period. The obtained results show an increase in total serum protein (p <0.001) at the expense of globulin fractions in the blood serum. We measured a significant drop in the level of serum lipids (p <0.001), as well as that of cholesterol in blood serum of the tested animals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
