Increase in the size of gingiva has several reasons behind it--inflammation, fibrous enlargement, or an amalgamation of these factors, which can lead to difficulties in optimal oral hygiene maintenance, disturbances in speech and mastication, as well as long-term aesthetic and psychological repercussions on the patient. A 12-year-old female patient reported with the chief complaint of spaces between her teeth. This article reports on a case of gingival overgrowth (GO) which was treated using a combination of gingivectomy and gingivoplasty using LASER and electrosurgery. The inter-disciplinary approach between a periodontist and an orthodontist turned out to be key in successful management of gingival hyperplasia caused as a result of orthodontic forces in involved patients.
