Abstrakt: Our patient's symptomatology along with abnormal echocardiogram, elevated cardiac enzymes and severe eosinophilia raised concerns of serious cardiac injury. I Toxocara i spp. infection affects mostly preschool children and is usually asymptomatic; however, it occasionally manifests with profound eosinophilia and even more rarely presents as eosinophilic pseudoleukaemia with potentially life-threatening complications, even among older children and adolescents. Nevertheless, physicians should be aware of the likelihood of steroid-refractory hypereosinophilia following I Toxocara i spp. infection that may imitate hypereosinophilic syndrome and may warrant second-line therapies including hydroxyurea.
