Abstrakt: The high-quality need of healthcare demands an adaptable and flexible change in the didactic trajectory of midwife and nurse students. The global economic market needs are dictated by health services users and their request for application and carrying into practice the health determinants. The well-grounded specialists in healthcare are a responsible challenge and task that should combine the conventional and traditional professional knowledge and skills with the modern achievements of nurse and midwife studies. In the process of midwife and nurse training the required minimum and necessary base of knowledge and skills are received for future working activity and career. Medical education is an emotional and continuous process which is not just a straightforward transfer of information. The medical training forms the professional identification of the future healthcare professionals. Nurse and midwife profession belongs to regulated professions with adopted unified standards in European Union countries. The statutory state requirements and legitimated national rules in our country are guarantee for the high quality degree in these specialties and professions. According to the Order for unified national requirements for high education, regarding bachelor‟s degree and the considered specialties, 50% of bachelor degree education of these professions is clinical and held and outsourced to clinical training facilities and bases. The goals set in the learning process are focused at acquiring a certain academic level of education, ensuring a successful professional realization and corresponding and adequate to the acquired level of education social status and self-esteem. Pre graduation practice gives the students opportunity to apply knowledge, skills, competence and they reach high social maturity and stability, to form as persons of high moral and cultural values that are significant for the profession. It is the main source and basic form of practical training and during its course, the possibility of final solidification and assimilation of knowledge is provided. In the raport, a special study of midwife and nurse students is presented in order to determine and establish the application of the formed professional competencies in pre graduation practice. The data were collected through a survey method. The investigation is made in academic years 2018 − 2019, 2019 − 2020 through inquiry form. An analysis of the application of significant professional competencies has been made. A conclusion has been reached that respondents have theoretical knowledge, communication skills, personal social behavior characteristics and ability to make right decisions in numerous professional situations. Pre graduation practice gives the opportunity of applying on the foundation of humanity with an individual approach to each person. This encourages lecturers and requires their constant aspiration to provide optimum organization, methods of clinical practice, constant control of the level of acquired learning and skills.
