Background: This article presents a review of quality of life among (QoL) dual kidney transplant (DKT) patients. Purpose: We conducted reviews and carried out researches in two databases (PubMed and Medline) using keywords related to our topic of study. Methods: This was a systematic review of the literature in the PubMed database, using the search terms dual kidney transplant (DKT) and quality of life (QoL). There were no restrictions regarding study design. Results: Eleven articles addressing this topic using various quality-of-life evaluation protocols were selected. The studies made it possible to define that DKT is capable of making an overall improvement in patients' QoL. Pain and function were among the most important predictors of improvement in the QoL, even when function remains inferior to that of healthy patients. Conclusions: The factors associated positively with DKT were duration after surgery, improvement of physical activities, mobility, alleviation of pain, and patient satisfaction.
