The use of microgrid has becoming a significant way for delivering power i.e. connecting local loads. This gives a backup scheme for availability of power throughout the day. For introducing microgrid in the existing network islanding is the most important parameter that is required to be analyzed. In this paper, the stress has been given in explaining the islanding process, from its entire mechanism of working along with various types, and techniques required for the detection purpose. The comparative study has been made among all the methods stating their advantages and disadvantages in different aspects to have a overview of applying different modes of detection approaches for a various case. The detailed analysis is made for each technique considering operating speed along with the range of NDZ. Considering different standard bus system like IEEE Std. 1547-2003, 929-2000, IEC 62116 and Korean Standards, the allowable range for existence of various parameters like voltage, frequency, etc. are discussed that will help to set the threshold limit in case of islanding detection for various buses. This detailed explanation will project a clear idea about various schemes of islanding process in microgrid analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
