Examines mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the thyroid in a woman with chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. Occurrence of MALT lymphomas in a number of sites, mucosal and non-mucosal; Demonstration that most MALT lymphomas are of B-cell lineage through immunohistological studies; Analysis of the case of a 64-year woman with a solitary painless multinodular thyroid swelling in the neck increasing in size over two months. |
