| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses the World Trade Organization (WTO), which succeeded the 1947 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in the efforts by countries to establish a transparent international trading system. Among the basic functions of WTO are a forum for the negotiation of new trade liberalization and rules and a venue to settle disputes. Also mentioned is the legislative and oversight role of U.S. Congress over WTO agreements. |
