Abstrakt:	As -cell function and insulin clearance influence insulin bioavailability and the latter is derived from PC, we calculated insulin bioavailability as adjusted PC (PCadj) according to the formula: PCadj = 2/insulin clearance [[5]]. Several studies reported an improvement of insulin sensitivity after surgery [[1]], but data about insulin secretion and insulin clearance are less abundant and somewhat controversial [[2]].
