The article describes how dental professionals may represent an underutilized resource for health systems finding themselves strained from the COVID-19 pandemic. With approximately 150,000 to 200,000 US dental practitioners and dental hygienists in the U.S. this workforce could offer support including SARS-CoV-2 testing, supporting morgue activities and conducting vaccinations in mass vaccination scenarios. |
