The lesions in each patient were depicted one by one in white colour for frame pictures of the face and body to reach distinct patterns, as in a study by van Geel.4 The maximum expected boundary for classification was established as a black line by using these vitiligo lesions. Dear Editor, segmental vitiligo (SV) is a distinct subtype of vitiligo, characterized by unilateral distribution, early age of onset, and stabilization after rapid progression.1-3 A classification according to distributions could provide valuable clues to the aetiology of SV. Of 461 patients, excluding 40 patients with mixed vitiligo, 55 (11-9%) showed recurrence after lesions were stabilized for at least 6 months without change. [Extracted from the article] |
