Abstrakt: CLINICAL OUTCOMES OF PATIENTS WITH ANTERIOR SHOULDER INSTABILITY & GLENOLABRAL ARTICULAR... B Presenting Author b : Eoghan Hurley, Core Surgical Trainee B Senior Author b : Hannan Mullett B Authors b : MS Davey, ET Hurley, JP Scanlon, M Gaafar, L Pauzenberger and H Mullet B Main Institution b : I Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin, Ireland i B Purpose: b The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes in patients who had glenolabral articular disruption (GLAD) lesions and underwent arthroscopic Bankart, and a control group without GLAD lesions. Average age of patients whose graft healed without osteolysis or resorption was 24.5 ± 8.98years, while the patients exhibiting signs of bone resorption, non-union or graft fracture was 21.0 ± 4.12years. There were statistically significant improvement in forward flexion, abduction, internal rotation and Oxford shoulder score (p There were 7 patients who underwent revision (6.5%); 2 patients were for deep infection; 4 for aseptic loosening of the glenoid baseplate and 1 patient had breakage of baseplate peg with loosening. B Methods and Results: b A multicentre prospective randomized controlled trial was undertaken in 36 patients with a mean age of 78 years recruited over 4 sites and followed for 24 months, to compare the outcome of hemiarthroplasty (HA) (18 patients) to reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) (18 patients) for unreconstructable 3 and 4 part proximal humerus fractures using a trauma specific implant in patients over the age of 65 years who were suitable for surgery. Most clinicians (89.2%) were likely to prescribe exercises that patients reported as painful but persistent pain and poor adherence by patients to exercises were the top reasons given for poor outcome along with psychological and psychosocial patient characteristics.
