The author details a medical malpractice case which illustrates whether the defendant obstetrician/gynecologist's (OB) use of a laparoscopic approach to performing salpingectomy on the plaintiff was appropriate. The plaintiff claimed that she suffered from several medical conditions after the surgery which included uterine fibroids and primary infertility. The jury has issued a ruling in favor of the defendant after a gynecology expert testified that the use of a Veress needle was appropriate. |
