Abstrakt: One of the promising photocatalyst materials for synthetic dyes degradation is bimetallic AgPt. This material has a good catalytic activity due to a combination of Ag and Pt metals. In this paper, photocatalytic activity in methylene blue photodegradation of nanobranched AgPt synthesized by the electrodeposition technique was studied. The AgPt electrodeposition was performed using a square wave deposition technique with varied deposition time. The morphological analysis conducted using a scanning electron microscope showed nanobranched particles of AgPt obtained with the shortest electrodeposition time. The electrochemical analysis carried out using cyclic voltammetry technique indicated the high content of Ag and branched particle shape. These characteristics contributed to a high specific capacitance value of the AgPt. This nanobranched AgPt was then resulted in high photocatalytic activity for the methylene blue degradation.
