Abstrakt: While most victims of sexual offences perpetrated by US servicemen during the Second World War were women and girls, rape and sexual assault of men and boys were not uncommon. 75 such cases are examined here. Analysis of these reveals that considerable parallels existed between the experiences of male and female victims, as well as the ways in which the crimes were handled by the military authorities. Perpetrators' methods and motives, however, varied widely, suggesting that existing theories of sexual offending against male victims may require revision in the light of historical evidence.
