Abstrakt: A total of 100 halves milk samples from 50 apparently healthy goats were collected and subjected to culture examination, Somatic Cell Count (SCC), modified california mastitis Test (CMT), and Electrical Conductivity (EC) to find out the prevalence of sub-clinical mastitis, to determine the bacterial isolates associated with sub-clinical mastitis in goats. The prevalence of sub-clinical mastitis was found to be 46 per cent on udder halves basis and 66 per cent on animal basis. Staphylococci were the most prevalent organisms (38.02 %) among bacterial isolates followed by Streptococci (29.58 %), Coliform organisms (16.90 %), Bacillus spp. (8.45 %) and Corynebacterium spp. (7.04 %). Mean values of somatic cell count and electrical conductivity of culturally positive halves were significantly higher than the mean values of culturally negative halves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
