Abstrakt: The Covid-19 pandemic in the twenty-first century made it necessary to conduct a study on psychology in the translation profession. The study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between translator candidates' fear of Covid-19 and their professional outcome expectations. Within the study's scope, the effect of the psychological conditions of the translator candidates studying at the Department of Translation and Interpretation in French at Marmara University during pandemic on the outcome expectations for the translation profession after graduation was tried to be examined. Due to the pandemic, the questionnaire prepared on Google Forms, including the fear of Covid-19 scale and the professional outcome expectation scale and demographic questions, was sent online to the translator candidates. A total of 56 translator candidates voluntarily participated in the research. SPSS software was used for the analysis of the data. The study's hypothesis, which was created that there is a relationship between fear of Covid-19 and expectation towards the translation profession, has been confirmed. There is a statistically significant negative correlation between the fear of Covid- 19 and the expectation towards the translation profession. In this direction, as the translator candidates' fear of Covid-19 increases, the expectations of professional outcomes decrease. Again, as the translator candidates' fear of Covid-10 decreases, their expectations for professional outcomes increase. A number of recommendations have been made to deal with the psychological repercussions of the Covid-19 outbreak. This research, which was presented during the process of dealing with the pandemic, is expected to shed light on other studies to be conducted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
