Nine hundred thirty-one employed male deaf were given the Geist Picture Interest Inventory, Deaf Form, to ascertain the interests of various deaf occupational groups. It was found that the interest profiles of male deaf seem to be quite similar to the profiles of analagous hearing occupational groups based either on empirical evidence or what one reasonably could expect from hearing occupational groups, with varying nuances in profiles due to the disability. Thus the interests of the deaf seem to be no different from those of the hearing in similar occupations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
