Abstrakt: The results showed that the majority of patients would use their currently prescribed topical drugs to treat a skin disease in the future on their own (75.2%), or would recommend these creams to friends without the friends first consulting a doctor (77.8%). Patient practices regarding topical drugs and a "nudge" to prevent topical steroid abuse India is facing an epidemic of dermatophytoses, due in large part to topical steroid abuse.1,2 The driving factors are prescription of combination topical steroids by nondermatologist physicians, their easy availability without prescription and patients self-medicating for skin diseases.
