The article reports on the characteristic of cell cycle parameters in psoriasis. In the study an epidermal cell suspension from skin biopsies was made. The cells were fixed in absolute ethanol and stained with ethidium bromide, a fluorescent dye which stains DNA quantitatively. Each cell produces a fluorescent signal, the intensity of which is proportional to the amount of DNA per cell. Concerning the cell kinetics, the result seem to indicate a rather short germinative cell cycle both in normal and in psoriatic skin. |
