The article focuses on travel risks. Tetons mountain guide and Sterling College president Jed Williamson has been editor of "Accidents in North American Mountaineering" since 1974 and has studied how subjective hazards lead to poor decision-making for at least that long. He believes that taking time to evaluate your own judgment-error potential is an essential, if often overlooked, step in staying safe. The article presents a quiz created with Williamson's help for taking stock of one's ability to make good decisions. |
